Four Seasons Reopens in Anguilla

It’s been a big week for Four Seasons in the Caribbean.

Fresh off the announcement of the company’s planned launch in Belize, Four Seasons officially reopened its Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla, which had been closed in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

The 181-unit Four Seasons, which also includes a significant villa component, is one of the most strikingly designed resorts in the Caribbean, set on 35 acres straddling the island’s Barnes Bay and Meads Bay beaches.

“Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla enjoyed significant popularity with our guests from around the world during our first year of operation. Travellers and and residence owners are eager to return and we’re happy to welcome them back to the beauty of Anguilla,” said Vince Parrotta, Four Seasons President of Hotel Operations in the Americas.

Four Seasons had taken over management of the former Viceroy Anguilla in late 2016.

“We have worked tirelessly and leveraged Starwood Capital Group’s strategic relationships around the world to reopen as soon as possible,” said Roy Shanholz, vice president for hotel asset management for Starwood Capital Group, which owns the property. “I have been here through every step of this process and welcoming guests back and having our employees back to work has been my goal since day one.”

It’s a huge step in Anguilla’s tourism recovery, which has been a slow climb up in the wake of last year’s storm.

Most of the island’s top resorts remain shuttered, with the notable exception of the ultra-luxe Zemi Beach House, which was Anguilla’s first resort to reopen in 2018.

Another top Anguilla hotel, the Belmond Cap Juluca, this week announced plans to reopen in November.

Four Seasons also announced that it was offering a special “fifth night free” promotion to guests to celebrate its relaunch in Anguilla.

Sneak Peek at the New Westin Hapuna Beach Resort

Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is well underway with its $46 million renovation and transformation to the soon-to-debut The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort.

The resort’s full completion and official debut of the upgraded property is expected in May.

The Westin Beach Hapuna Resort will be the only Westin on Hawaii Island and with the Westin brand’s commitment to meeting the needs of the traveler who prioritizes well-being, the resort is designed to be the island’s most meaningful wellness destination.

The upgrades include redesigned guest rooms and suites, a new adults-only pool offering a poolside experience overlooking the famous Hapuna Beach; four new dining concepts; and a lobby experience that includes a new “Living Wall” vertical garden and interactive check-in pods.

The four new dining concepts are Meridia, a Mediterranean inspired restaurant boasting a display kitchen, craft cocktails and expanded al fresco dining; Naupaka Beach Grill, an innovative casual restaurant with an extensive list of local brews on tap; Ikena Landing, an open-air breakfast venue with a buffet, a la carte options and fresh juices by The Juicery; and Piko Coffee+Bar, a barista bar serving Kona Coffee, a light menu and snacks.

Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel opened in 1994. As the second phase in Laurence S. Rockefeller's creation of Mauna Kea Resort, the hotel property shares 1,839 acres of oceanfront with Mauna Kea Beach Hotel.

Mauna Kea Beach Hotel was the first resort on the island built in 1965 by Rockefeller. The historic and storied hotel, now part of Autograph Collection Hotels, offers two championship golf courses, luxury residences, town homes and villas.
